'More than Friends' richt zich op verschillende vormen van verwantschap, vanuit de opvatting dat ’iedere revolutie thuis begint.’ De tweedaagse training (9 en 11 oktober) verkent onder andere: manieren om zorgrelaties op te bouwen; strategieën voor geweldloze communicatie; hoe je weg te vinden in relaties met aandacht voor je eigen gevoelsleven; en hoe goed voor jezelf te zorgen zonder anderen hierbij te kwetsen.

Het materiaal dat wordt besproken in de training is ontleend aan theorieën en praktijken van o.a. 'transformative justice', non-monogamie en activisme rond leven met beperkingen. Hierbij wordt extra aandacht besteedt aan het werk dat queer vrouwen van kleur aan deze kennisgebieden hebben bijgedragen.

'More than Friends' opens to modes of affinity and coalition from the standpoint that, according to curator Bu Shea, every “revolution starts at home.” The two days training (9th and 11th of October) explores: ways of expanding relationships of care; differences between affinity and coalition and between conflict and abuse; accountability practices, tools, and strategies of nonviolent communication; navigating relationships with mental health in mind; and taking journeys of healing without harming ourselves and others.

The material to be discussed is drawn from theories and practices of transformative justice, family abolition, non-monogamy, and disability activism, looking in particular at the immense work by queer womxn of color across these fields.
