MYBODY. COM onderzoekt welke fysieke vrijheden er bestaan voor het individu binnen systemen zoals het kapitalisme, fascisme, communisme en het (post)kolonialisme. Kunstenaars tonen menselijke lichamen die worden ingezet als strategische pionnen voor grotere ideologieën en economische doeleinden, soms bewust maar meestal zonder de instemming van het individu. In hoeverre is het lichaam privé?

MYBODY. COM kijkt niet alleen naar hoe machtsstructuren van weleer doorwerken in de lichamen van zij die nu leven en werken. Het richt ook een blik op de toekomst: welke rol er is toebedeeld voor het lichaam in een samenleving die almaar analytischer, abstracter en hoofdzakelijk digitaal is?

The exhibition MYBODY.COM reflects on the body as a battlefield of power structures. It exhibits the human body as a map, leading the way through historical events, rulers and market systems. The exhibition not only looks at how political structures of the past affect the bodies of those who live and work today. It also focuses on the future in order to visualize the role assigned to the body in a world that is becoming more and more analytical, abstract and mainly digital.
